I Found an Animal

If you find an animal, please do not immediately pick it up or contain it. Please call Greenwood for advice at 303-823-8455. For information after our business hours, 9 am – 4pm daily, review advice here or visit Animal Help Now.

The most important things to keep in mind as you go through this process:
  1. Resist the urge to feed or give fluids, formula, etc., to the animal. This often causes more harm.
  2. Keep the animal in as dark of an environment as possible to reduce stimulation.
  3. Keep the animal warm.
  4. Keep the environment as quiet as possible, also to reduce stress.

*PLEASE NOTE: Greenwood relies on caring members of the public to transport animals in distress to our Center. We do not have the capacity to send somebody out to rescue an animal. It is important that you call first.
