Fleas

Zoonoses
Ticks can pass many blood-borne diseases which can be specific to the tick species. Transmission occurs when a tick bites an infected individual before biting an uninfected individual. Some of these diseases are serious so safety precautions are taken. These are the more common diseases passed on by ticks:
- Lyme disease
- Q fever (very rare)
- Colorado Tick Fever
- Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
- Tularemia
- Tick paralysis
