Her accomplishments there included creating and implementing many new programs to save animals, expanding the staff from 18 to 50 and volunteers from 300 to 500, and growing the budget from $450,000 to $2 million.

She has been at Greenwood since January, of 2009.

Operations Coordinator: Deborah Turner

Northern red-shafted flicker

Deborah comes to Greenwood from Texas with 20 years experience in both municipal and non-profit animal shelters and 12 years as a veterinary technician. She has handled domestic animals and livestock as well as exotics or "non-traditional" pets.

She is excited to be expanding her knowledge to include wildlife. Deborah's background includes managing spay/neuter clinics and she is also a nationally certified animal cruelty investigator.

Animal Care Manager: Susan Honeycutt

Susan holds a B.S. in Environmental Conservation from the University of Colorado. Before joining the Greenwood staff in March, 2009, she worked as a Veterinary Technician at a local animal medical center. She has nine years of experience as a Boulder Park Ranger.

Susan has been actively involved in the conservation and preservation of black-tailed prairie dogs in Colorado, having founded a non-profit organization called Wild Places, Inc. in 1999.

She has been a provisionally licensed wildlife rehabilitator since 2001 and recently obtained her full license from the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator: Paula Lewis

Paula holds a Master's of Science in Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. Her graduate thesis focused on the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence.

After completing her degree, Paula became the Project Director for the Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery Project. As the Project Director she campaigned to protect the endangered Mexican gray wolf through education, outreach, and policy reform. Most recently, she worked for the City of Centennial as the Coyote Management Technician educating the general public about co-existing with coyotes and other wildlife. Paula has also worked and volunteered for organizations such as Rocky Mountain Animal Defense, the Prairie Dog Coalition, Raised by Wolves, and Animal Watch.

Prior to her work in the animal and conservation fields, Paula lived on the Navajo Reservation for several years and was a high school counselor for at-risk and parenting teens. In her spare time, Paula enjoys eating chocolate, reading, running, and spending time in the wilderness with friends and her mutt, Blondie.

Administrative Assistant: Georgia Jallo

Racoon

A newcomer to Colorado in 2008, Georgia felt that volunteering at Greenwood would provide a great introduction to the state's wildlife. She was first hired as a seasonal intake receptionist before being promoted to Administrative Assistant. Always interested in the vital connections between habitat and wildlife, she is now an apprentice master gardener with a focus on adding native plants to her new Colorado landscape.

After receiving a B.A. in Near Eastern Languages from the University of California at Berkeley, Georgia spent 10 years in South America. She was an international banking officer and worked most recently in the medical field in California.

Thrift Store Manager: Roseanne Ashley

Roseanne graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Business Administration. After years of banquet and food services management, she found her true calling volunteering at another Boulder non-profit thrift store.

She is pleased to combine the environmental aspects of resale with the humanitarian efforts of Wildlife Rehabilitation. She has been with Greenwood since February of 2010.
